Ha Giang is the whole province — Village Treks, Ridge & Cloud and extended journeys are all inside it. Hoang Su Phi is one terrace district in the west. Start with an easier terrace or village route — Ban Phung for one day, Nam Hong–Ho Thau for two, or Du Gia for a valley walk. Ridge & Cloud is not a first mountain walk. Share your fitness and dates and we will suggest the best match.

Some routes may require local registration or permits depending on area and season. Bring your passport and we’ll confirm the current requirements during your enquiry.

Simple and clean: shared rooms, local meals, and basic bathroom facilities. A private room can be arranged on some overnight programmes, subject to the household confirmed for your departure — tell us when you enquire. Your guide will brief you on what to expect and what to pack for comfort.

You walk with a daypack. On overnight programmes such as Nam Hong and Ban Luoc, the main bag is moved by motorbike between overnight points. On the two-day Chieu Lau Thi cloud-sea programme, the main bag stays in Hoang Su Phi with the driver. One-day walks such as Ban Phung have no overnight luggage transfer. Tell us if bag handling matters when you enquire.

Yes. Published programmes can run as a private departure when you ask at enquiry. If you need dates or geography that do not match a published route, start on Custom Expeditions. This site does not take payment — we confirm the private option on WhatsApp.

Hoang Su Phi programmes focus on terraces and village homestays at 900 – 1,700 m. Ridge & Cloud is for Chieu Lau Thi high-mountain walking — a one-day summit walk or a two-day lodge overnight at Chieu Lau Thi 2402m Lodge. Both Chieu Lau Thi programmes are currently open for booking October through April.

Safety comes first. We adjust timing, reroute, postpone, or cancel when conditions make the mountain unsafe. If we cancel your departure for safety or weather before you travel, we offer a full refund or reschedule. We confirm options for your specific departure during your enquiry.

Some easier day walks can work for confident older children. For multi‑day routes, share ages and fitness and we’ll advise what’s appropriate for the season and terrain.

Regular walking at home matters more than age. Ban Phung and Nam Hong–Ho Thau are Moderate, with rest stops and a pace set by the slowest walker. Ridge & Cloud and Ban Luoc ask more of knees and cold exposure. Tell us your usual distance and any descent concerns when you enquire — we match a published Easy or Moderate programme rather than assuming a fixed age limit.
