— Ha Giang trekking tours

Multi-day trekking
across Ha Giang.

This is the extended-journey line of our Ha Giang trekking tours — four- to seven-day multi-day trekking with multiple homestays and wider geography. They are separate from our 1–3 day programmes in Hoang Su Phi, village circuits and ridge routes.

— Above the six flagship journeys

Private & Tailor-Made Expeditions — designed from scratch, around you.

The six flagship journeys below are fixed routes with set dates. This is not a seventh one — it is our bespoke tier, drafted from a blank map around your goals, whether that means a photography commission, a research trip, a family itinerary or a route no scheduled departure covers. Same guides, same safety standard, no template.

Dong Van Karst Traverse
Dong Van Plateau5d

The Dong Van Karst Traverse follows one direction: up onto the plateau from Ha Giang City, across its farming ridges and ethnic-minority hamlets, and out to its most dramatic edge — the Nho Que gorge beneath the Ma Pi Leng pass. You leave the road early and rejoin it only when walking is not the practical way through.

Hoang Su Phi Rice Terraces
Hoang Su Phi4d

Four days that sample Hoang Su Phi in sequence — valley lodge first, then a full Red Dao terrace loop, La Chi Ban Phung with a weaving demonstration, and a farewell sunrise above the fields before the drive back to Ha Giang City.

Ma Pi Leng Canyon Expedition
Meo Vac7d

The Ma Pi Leng Canyon Expedition follows the Nho Que river from above and then from the water itself: a rim day along the eastern edge of Tu San Gorge, a steep descent to a Giay village at the riverbank, a boat passage upstream, and a long climb into Lung Pu on the canyon's far wall. Most travellers experience this landscape from a viewpoint or the back of a motorbike. This trip spends a week inside it.

Lung Cu Northern Frontier
Lung Cu6d

The Lung Cu Northern Frontier expedition follows the border plateau north from Quan Ba, through Hmong farming country and buckwheat ridges, to the flagpole marking Vietnam's northernmost point above Lung Cu. Most visitors reach that flagpole by coach; this trip reaches it on foot, arriving with the ridge still in your legs and the village of Lo Lo Chai behind you.

Hidden Valleys Slow Trek
Du Gia4d

Hidden Valleys Slow Trek stays in one place rather than covering ground. Four days in the Du Gia valley, with two consecutive nights in the same Tay homestay, gentle river and forest paths between Tay, Hmong and Dao hamlets, and no walking day longer than an unhurried morning and afternoon. This is the deliberately slow end of our six flagship journeys.

— Booking

How departures are confirmed.

Extended journeys are privately planned after enquiry — each tour page lists pricing, itinerary and confirmation steps. Journal articles do not replace booking on those pages.

  1. Step 1

    Enquire

Tell us your route, dates and group size — by WhatsApp from any programme or tour page.

  2. Step 2

    Confirm

We reply with availability, a clear price and the logistics needed to confirm your departure.

  3. Step 3

    Prepare

You receive what to pack and where to meet before you travel.

— Why book with us
  • Licensed local operator

Hanoi Travel Mate Co., Ltd. (tax code 0110906485) runs every departure listed on this site — not a reseller or marketplace listing. Licensed Local Operator

  • Local trekking expertise

Ha Giang has no marked national-park trail network. Paths follow irrigation channels, farm decisions, and weather calls made by people who live on the route. Local trail guides from each community negotiate homestay space, read fog on the ridge, and know when a bamboo bridge is safe after rain — alongside English-speaking trekking leads who handle logistics, pace and guest communication.

  • Transparent enquiry process

No payment on this site. Enquire by WhatsApp; we usually reply within 24 hours with availability, a clear price and what to pack. Booking Terms

  • Safety and responsible travel

Personal accident and trekking insurance is included on every guide-led programme — see each programme's includes list. Permits and community fees are included on programme prices where listed. Safety Policy

— Trip shape

Which product line fits your dates?

Days alone do not define the trip. A three-day Ban Luoc programme and a three-day Tay Con Linh Summit extended journey share duration but not product line or booking page. Programme vs Extended Journey.

  • Hub programme

One to three focused walking days in Hoang Su Phi, Village Treks or Ridge & Cloud — a defined route with schedule and price on the programme page.

    Browse programmes
  • Extended journey

Four to seven days across wider geography on a published multi-day route — itinerary and pricing on each tour page under Extended Journeys.

    Extended journeys
  • Custom expedition

Private dates, mixed regions or a route that does not match a published programme or tour — designed after enquiry on Custom Expeditions.

Personal accident and trekking insurance is included on every guide-led programme — see each programme's includes list. Extended journeys list party size on each tour page — commonly 4–10 travellers depending on the route.
